Fashion Square is the place to live!

Looking at the building from any angle, it is a massive structure from all sides. From the original 1926 façade, this historic landmark in the middle of downtown, with its classic gothic architectural touches and new dramatic re-design has become a symbol of downtown’s reinvention. Its use of terra cotta softens the exterior and stands in tribute to the decadence of St. Louis’ stature at the time it was built. The building rises eleven stories to 140 feet dominating over all other buildings on the block and has so many windows that view can be seen in every direction.

The construction of the FASHION SQUARE BUILDING started on April 15, 1926. It is constructed of steel, concrete, brick & terra cotta. The steel framework allowed the architect to devote a large portion of the walls to windows allowing for exceptional lighting and ventilation. The historic Washington Avenue Lobby is done in imported Italian travertine. It is blended with contrasting trimmings of Verdi antique marble and two display windows on either side of the entrance.
